ABOUT ANASTASIA NEWTON

Filmmaker. Director.

Documentaries include: 'The Art of Music - BBC', 'Performance Experiences - ITV', and 'Vocal Studies - ITV'.

Newton studied 'Television and Film' at London Film Academy graduating with a First Class honours degree.

ABOUT THE CHOIR
​

The Choir ranges from ages 13-18. They perform a wide range of music from sacred music for college services to contemporary music. Normally singing in 4 parts made up of soprano, alto, tenor and bass, the choir rehearse four times a week in preparation for their busy performance diary.

THE CHOIR FEATURES ON BBC SONGS OF PRAISE

The choir comprised of students took to the stage at the televised recording of BBC Young Choir of the Year at the Pontio Arts Centre in Bangor. It was recorded on April 22 and will air on Sunday May 6 on BBC One in the usual Songs of Praise slot, when the finalists will be revealed.

They sang Poor Wayfaring Stranger, a traditional American folk song, in front of the judges, Ken Burton, JB from JLS and Cary Grant.
